Unimpaired clearance of somatostatin-14 in chronic renal failure

Abstract

The present study does not suggest that somatostatin-14 is handled by the kidney in a manner that is qualitatively different from other small peptides but it appears that the kidney plays only a relatively minor role in the in vivo clearance in comparison to the many other sites of degradation.
