Abstract
This paper gives a derivation of the modification factors of wave amplitudes due to the effect of pure shoaling, friction, percolation and their combined effect. The resulting expressions are numerically solved and a set of graphs are given for the case of beaches of constant slopes and parabolic profiles. A comparison of the modification of wave amplitudes propagating on the above two types of beaches is also considered.
